Could you imagine showing this video to your students? How many of them do you think would believe in flying penguins? Would some catch on when they fly to the Rainforest?
This would be an example of something I would show my class to lead into a discussion on web literacy. It's on the internet; so it must be true right?

My first thought here is WHAT???? Then I realized that it is of course not true. Since it did say the BBC, I'm sure that some people (not just students) would believe it. Students who had no prior knowledge would just be led into believing anything. This is starting to get really scary, what can be put on the internet and how information can get so distorted. We as teachers will really need to teach students to THINK, reason and research before they believe what they see or read.
